This article came across my desk today and it has some real merit. The wellness revolution is probably the biggest trend to ever affect the western world.

THE PERFECT STORM
“The future belongs to those who see the possibilities before they become obvious.” So wrote John Sculley, former Apple CEO. What follows is for those who can see the future of health care for the opportunity it is.
When it comes to business, people come in two flavors. Entrepreneurs care for people but are ‘wired’ for business. They look for profit potential, even though they may care deeply for people. Most of us are the other flavor. When it comes to helping others we tend to be motivated by compassion. We are willing to help people, regardless of whether it makes us any money or not. However, we are pleased when we discover we can gain financially by helping others. So then, when it comes right down to it, two ‘flavors’ are not all that different. The following is for both, but it will likely be more appealing to entrepreneurs.
We need to talk about health care. IBM gave it a lot of thought and wrote, “Healthcare is in crisis. While this is not news for many countries, we believe what is now different is that the current paths of many healthcare systems around the world will become unsustainable by 2015. Healthcare systems that fail to transform will likely ‘hit the wall’ and require immediate and major forced restructuring - a ‘lose-lose’ scenario for all stakeholders.”
They singled out Ontario, Canada, as an example (the UK and Europe are in possibly an even more precarious position). Canadians get universal (”free”) health care (sickness care actually), funded by governments. IBM commented, “In Ontario, Canada’s most populous province (12.5 million), healthcare will account for 50% of [all] government spending by 2011, two-thirds by 2017, and 100% by 2026.”
They were wrong. Health care in Ontario is already consuming 50% of the government’s budget, four years ahead of what IBM anticipated. That’s unsustainable and will force radical change. Transformation must come, and it’s similar throughout the developed world.
But it’s not just the financial burden. The London Free Press recently reported that five million Canadians (14% of the population) have no family doctor. They also reported that Canada will be short “for sure” 5,800 doctors by 2010, and “probably” as many as 10,400. Making matters even worse, 30,000 Canadian nurses will be eligible for retirement by 2008. The Canadian medical system is in free-fall. Many countries are about the same.
And speaking of doctors, Delthia Ricks of Newsday recently reported, “Every year, at one of the largest meetings of physicians who specialize in the treatment of cancer, doctors can be seen puffing cigarettes during breaks. While [this] may strike many as shocking, it is only a snapshot of a broader picture involving doctors and health issues. Doctors, as reluctant as they are to admit it, suffer from the same bad habits and serious health concerns as everyone else. The difference between physicians and the populations they serve is that it may take them longer to acknowledge something is amiss.”
Most physicians scoff at the suggestion that nutrition can do much to bring about wellness. Imagine where that attitude could land the medical profession in a few years!
Still, thousands of medical professionals see the value of nutrition, including dietary supplements. Nutrition has transformed their own health and that of their families. Now their practices are like wellness centers.
Pioneer nutritional researcher Dr. Roger J. Williams (1893 - 1988) showed way. He summed up his life’s work with this: “The human body heals itself, and nutrition provides the resources to accomplish the task.”
Wellness through good nutrition has caught on and over half of the United States population are using nutritional supplements.
But the current allopathic medical system is still in control. Not surprisingly, every disease is increasing rampantly. The system is also economically unsustainable. Major change must come.
Science-based nutritional supplementation is already bringing about change. Hundreds of thousands rarely need to see a doctor. This is saving millions of dollars.
All this is happening without advertising. Ordinary people who are making it happen. They have had excellent results and have shared what they know with others. It is causing the wellness revolution.
This is an entrepreneur’s dream come true! Wellness is predicted to become a one trillion (one thousand billion!) dollar industry in just a few years. Leading economist Paul Zane Pilzer put it this way: “Everyone wants better health. Everyone wants to live longer. Everyone wants to look younger and enjoy life more as they age.” The potential market for wellness is everyone! Pilzer predicts that in the next ten years this will produce ten million new millionaires!
Pilzer has more good things to say in the article, Perfect Storm. Wellness, combined with home-based network marketing is truly an entrepreneur’s dream-come-true. But it is for everyone who can see the future before it actually arrives.
Eugene Fox writes ‘I spent most of my life in financial poverty. At 62, I was introduced to the wellness industry and network marketing. Ten years later, my wife and I have over 12,000 people in our business. It has an assert value (the value to us) of three million dollars — and growing. Pretty good for ten years’ work! I still work when it fits in with our comfortable retirement.’
But the wellness revolution has only just begun. The next few years will be exciting. We have many keen leaders who are building their own very successful wellness / network marketing / home-based businesses within ours. I am sure they will produce many millionaires while they become very wealthy themselves. Everyone succeeds by helping others.
This opportunity is for you, regardless of you background or age. Look into it for yourself and let the facts sell you.
