Fucose is a plant sugar that has many functions within the human body. Most of them revolve around the immune system and cellular identification and cell repair. Find someone healthy and you'll find good levels of Fucose in their diets - the converse is very often true.
The most abundant source of Fucose - or more correctly Fucoidans that can be converted to Fucose - the seaweed Undaria. This grows all over the world and in many areas is classified as a pest.
Whys is Fucose of such great interest? In very simple terms because wherever Cancer is found then there is a corresponding deficiency of Fucose.
If we can prevent this deficiency then maybe we can reduce the probability that Cancer will proliferate.

Alzheimer's is an incurable, degenerative and terminal illness that is more common in the elderly but is also known in much younger people 20 years and upwards. It is typified by memory loss, confusion, short & long term memory issues, mood swings and other problems.
It places huge burdens on carers and despite many hundreds of pharmaceutical drug trials as yet there is no treatment or cure. So my principal belief is go back to nature. That is what this lens is about.
Alzheimer's is characterised by the build up of mal-formed proteins in the brain which effectively stops it working right. If you can go to the root of the problem and stop or reduce the proteins mal-forming in the first place then it doesn't take a brain scientist to see the potential benefits. Trehalose has been seen to do just that in medical studies.

In 2003 there were 6000 new viruses every week. They were looking to damage. Today in 2008 the treat is very different. The goal today is to capture your personal details for very organised gangs to steal money on a huge scale.
Today less than 1% of cyber crime involves e mail viruses. So how does it happen - read on below and I'll tell you.
If you are relying on anti-virus software alone you are very exposed and the risk is huge.

There is a lot of misunderstanding and confusion about strokes and it is worth knowing the signs and what to do about them. In very simple terms a stoke occurs when the blood supply to a part of the brain is interrupted or even reduced. They can be caused by burst blood vessels, blood clots, embolism (bubbles) or physical trauma.
What happens when an area of the brain gets staved of oxygen is that it begins to die - there may be pain, loss of motor control but the long and short of it is that the brain begins to die. If you can restore the blood supply inside about 3 hours the chances of a full recovery are very good.

Just once in a while something comes along which stops you in your tracks. Almost 9 years ago i came across a new discovery relating to plant sugars. I'd always thought that sugar was sugar. Well as it happens that's not quite true. I think it was George Orwell in his book 1984 who said 'all animals are created equal: but some are more equal than others. The same can be said for plant sugars - they are all sugars but some are more helpful than others. Sucrose is useful for providing the body with glucose but in today's world we simply get too much of either or both. Galactose comes mainly from milk (lactose - Galactose) but as half the western population is lactose intolerant half of the population don't get that one. There are many sugars in nature - over 200 in reality but there are a very few - maybe 11 or 12 biologically active sugars that are centrally involved in a whole range of physiological functions. What arrested me 9 years a go was the possibility that lack of health was not due to anything other than lack of specific nutrients in our diets and it is this that has consumed my attention for the last 9 years. A few years later it dawned on me that in some areas too much glucose (or food that produces glucose) is one of the major causes of weight gain and diabetes. This is the subject of another discussion - but in simple terms biologically active sugars and other key nutrients like Omega 3 EFA should be our first recourse when faced witrh falling health not automatically drugs. We need pharmaceutical drugs but not automatically when faced with many health challenges. We need Doctors who understand diet and essential nutrients and pharmaceutical drugs. paul@sugars4life.com www.sugars4life.com US 615 692 1173 UK 44 (0) 1752 769090

The human body is a remarkable thing but strangely it can get addicted to things. All addictions are harmful in some way but we have become so sensitised to food being sweet that a huge number of people are effectively addicted to sucrose or glucose or artificial sweeteners - e.g.. sucralose, splenda, Nutrasweet. If we use sucrose or glucose we pile on the pounds and we crave sugar with everything. This addiction is at the root of the epidemics of obesity, diabetes, dental decay and so much more. By listening to chemical and food companies who substitute sugar with artificial sweeteners we are storing up equally serious problems.
Chocoholics that includes you too.
We need to try to get back to a diet that contains far less sucrose and avoid artificial sweeteners like the plague.

In order to cut your motoring fuel costs there are some really simple things you must do. You need an engine running cleanly (good emissions)and well maintained, tyres correctly inflated and a car in good condition.
With Fuel, Petrol and Diesel, costs rising every day it makes sense to make sure the fuel you use takes you as far as possible. Contrary to what you might have learnt there are a few things that you can do to make your fuel go further and this is what this site is about. Ethos FR, a fuel reformulator, is a combination of 288 Esters and the benefits are that it improves combustion, improves lubrication, improves fuel consumption and dramatically cuts down carbon emissions - it helps cut fuel costs.

This site is about educating and informing. Huntington's disease is a progressive, degenerative disease that causes certain nerve cells in your brain to waste away. As a result, you may experience uncontrolled movements, emotional disturbances and mental deterioration. Huntington's disease is an inherited disease. Signs and symptoms usually develop in middle age. Younger people with Huntington's disease often have a more severe case, and their symptoms may progress more quickly. Rarely, children may develop this condition. Also called Huntington's chorea, Huntington's disease was documented in 1872 by American physician George Huntington. The name "chorea" comes from the Greek word for "dance" and refers to the incessant quick, jerky, involuntary movements that are characteristic of this condition. Medications are available to help manage the signs and symptoms of Huntington's disease, but treatments can't prevent the physical and mental decline associated with the condition.

Quite simply the threat in 2000 to PC users was the e mail spread virus. There wasn't much else negative out there. Today the threat is no longer the e mail virus but small bits of code that can sit quietly on your system and inform others about what you do. The other more insidious threat is where you go to a website that has malicious code that attempts to capture your details.
