Hi Stephen - thanks for your interesting comment. Personally I'd rather not have glyphosphate sprayed onto any food or plant I'm going to eat. I'm not sure about the mechanism of glyphosphate dessicating but I'm not at all comfortable with it. What exactly does the enzyme glyphosphate oxidase convert glyphosphate to?
Where ever i see the name Monsanto i have a crisis of confidence as they have not distinguished themselves as trustworthy in the past.

The part about eating glyphosate makes no sense! Glyphosate is regularly sprayed onto wheat crops to help dessicate them ready for harvest, yes thats right... its sprayed directly onto the edible part of the plant that YOUR going to eat! However round up be sprayed onto the leaves of the sugar beet, which your not going to eat, yet you dont mind it being sprayed directly onto your wheat then? Also monsanto have included a gene which produces the enzyme 'glyphosate oxidase' which detoxifies glyphosate in the plant and stops a build up the product.

We are receiving many interesting comments from individuals and families how the sugar trehalose has positively impacted their lives. A lady with diabetes from California called me to say that when she stopped using trehalose that her blood sugar went back up. When she uses trehalose as her sweetener her blood sugar levels out. There are a number of science papers posted at www.endowmentmed.org about trehalose. The abstracts from these published papers can be found in the news section and in the Sugar Science Forum.
